Confidence boosting win by Elite Hong Kong

17/06/16 - It was a satisfying moment for Scott Aspery and his team, to see the Nicconi gelding, Elite Hong Kong break his maiden status with a stylish 2 Length win at Gosford on Friday (17/06).

Elite Hong Kong, owned by Hong Kong based Dr Lam, had been threatening to break his maiden status this preparation since returning from a short break to produce an easy 1.5 length trial win at Warwick Farm on the 16th May.

Dr Lam's Racing Manager, Michelle Johnston commented that "We are thrilled to bits with what Scott has been able to achieve in a short space of time - with only two runners to date (Milady Hong Kong and Elite Hong Kong) for 3 wins, a second and a third from limited runs. Dr Lam, Samuel and I very much look forward to the future as our young horses are also starting to come through Scott's stables "

Interestingly, Elite Hong Kong was bred by Dr Lam through him having borrowed one of Michelle's own mares Coco La Dez (half-sister to Keith Nolan Classic winner LA NIKITA). Elite Hong Kong is Coco La Dez's first foal.

The stable and connections now very much look forward to seeing Elite Hong Kong's career progress, as the super win at Gosford was such a confidence booster for a horse who has taken a while to "get his act together mentally".

PROMISING DEBUT FOR LADY CHICAGO

16/06/16 - Lady Chicago excited her ownership group yesterday at Warwick Farm in making her racing debut. The excitement had been building for the stable and the owners, in having this cracking daughter of Sebring grace the track.

Lady Chicago was presented to the races in stunning order by Scott Aspery and his team of Shannonbrook Lodge

In a hotly contested 2yo Maiden, Lady Chicago performed admirably after missing the start by 3 lengths to narrowly miss a placing beaten 1.6 lengths into 3rd.

Jockey Kathy O'Hara commented that it was a really good run, great first up effort and she finished off really well.

It is widely regarded the race will prove to be one providing solid form, so for our girl on her first outing to perform to the level she did finishing a credible 7th in a field of twelve was good effort.

Scott is keen to test Lady Chicago on top of the ground and will sound out suitable options over the next two weeks for her next assignment.

No doubt more exciting times ahead for the ownership group.
